MEET THE TEAM

Glenn Walsh

Pastor

Glenn and his wife Sarah came to us from St Peters Hextable where they served for eight years. They have a background of church planting, mission and youth work, serving with New Frontiers, Vineyard, New Wine and Rhema expressions of churches. Glenn and Sarah have six daughters, nine grandchildren (at present) and have fostered many children through Bexley Social Services. Glenn had a dramatic conversion in his early twenties with God moving sovereignly in life, his story has featured in national publications and evangelistic recordings and he has shared his story over the years in many settings to include prisons, radio, churches and schools.

Chris Stiven

Elder

After a career in banking, during which he lived for 16 years in Japan and the Americas (North, South and Central) Chris has been actively retired since 2002.
He and his wife Sally have been coming to VEC since 1999. They have two grown-up children and five grandchildren. Chris enjoys learning, helping others to learn, extending hospitality, and playing golf.

Sally Stiven

Serving and Gifts Co-ordinator

Sally has attended this church with her husband since 1999. Her role is to enable people to find the area of service which suits them best, and to try to get everyone involved in some form of ministry. She also leads ladies’ Bible studies. Outside of helping with the church she enjoys playing golf and racquetball, running a Child Contact Centre, and being grandma to five beautiful grandchildren.

Phil Wiles

Elder

Phil and his wife Jan have been at VEC since 1990. They have four adult children who have grown up through the church family. Leadership has at various times encompassed home groups, music and now a second period of eldership. Phil worked in the third sector for nearly 40 years, including 10 years on the home staff of OMF International and 18 years as a Welfare Manager with the RAF Benevolent Fund until retirement at the end of 2018. Now assisting his son Tom to develop his drumming career, music and sport compete for time with family commitments.

Sarah Brown

Safeguarding Officer

My name is Sarah Brown and I have been attending VEC for almost 20 years. I have extensive experience working with children with disabilities while working in a variety of special needs schools. I am married to Chris Brown and we enjoy visiting local wildlife places, reading and playing board games.

Eloise Cross

Church Administrator

Eloise has been attending VEC since 2011 and lives in Sevenoaks with her husband and 2 sons. After a career in fashion buying in London, she moved the Sevenoaks in 2010 with her young family. She has since worked in both voluntary and employed support roles in a primary school and currently runs the Children’s ministry here at VEC. In 2018 she took on the Administrator role at the church.
