Glenn commenced serving as pastor at VEC December 2017. He and his wife Sarah came to us from St Peters Hextable where they served for eight years. They have a background of church planting, mission and youth work, serving with New Frontiers, Vineyard ,New Wine and Rhema expressions of churches. As well as being on staff in various churches Glenn was invited to launch a national evangelistic strategy called Church Without Walls Their passion is to see a mission shaped church community reaching out and making Jesus known locally and to the ends of the earth. Glenn likes to mix mission with pleasure and helped set up LNMB (leave no man behind) annual snowboard/ski trip. Glenn and Sarah have six daughters, nine grandchildren (at present) and have fostered many children through Bexley Social Services. Glenn had a dramatic conversion in his early twenties with God moving sovereignly in life, his story has featured in national publications and evangelistic recordings and he has shared his story over the years in many setting to include prisons, radio, churches and schools.
Phil Wiles – Elder
Phil and his wife Jan have been at VEC since 1990. They have four adult children who have grown up through the church family. Leadership has at various times encompassed home groups, music and now a second period of eldership. Phil has been working in the third sector for 35 years, including 10 years on the home staff of OMF International. The past 15 years have been with the RAF Benevolent Fund where he is a Welfare Manager. Outside of work, music and sport interest compete for time with family commitments.
Chris Stiven – Elder
After a career in banking, during which he lived for 16 years in Japan and the Americas (North, South and Central) Chris has been actively retired since 2002.
He and his wife Sally have been coming to VEC since 1999. They have two grown-up children and five grandchildren. Chris enjoys learning, helping others to learn, extending hospitality, and playing golf.
A Scots girl living in Aberdeen, meets an Englishman from Hertfordshire in the middle of Africa,marries him and settles in Sevenoaks ! Pauline along with her husband and two daughters have been attending V.E.C. since 1993.
Apart from working at a local school Pauline is a volunteer at a child contact centre and oversees the meals ministry at church. She loves to meet and greet new people who visit V.E.C …see you there!
Sally Stiven – Serving & Gifts Coordinator, Safeguarding Coordinator
Sally has attended this church with her husband since 1999. Her role is to enable people to find the area of service which suits them best, and to try to get everyone involved in some form of ministry. She also leads ladies’ Bible studies. Outside of helping with the church she enjoys playing golf and racquetball, running a Child Contact Centre, and being grandma to five beautiful grandchildren.
Hester is one of our children workers, our lead Sunday school teacher.
