Crèche

We have a staffed crèche for children under 3 and a bawl room where restless children can calm down while you hear and see the service.

Sunday Club

Children stay in for the first part of our services, but on third Sundays they also stay for communion, seated with their parents. After leaving they have their own sessions where they can learn in an interesting and interactive way, and make lots of mess. They are split into upper and lower primary school groups, and have CRB-checked leaders. They have the chance to be involved in services at time during the year, including the Christmas nativity.

RIPz

RIPz runs on Sunday mornings during the service and is for 11-13 year olds. They spend their time chatting, eating and looking at living out faith as something cool and not dull. They have occasional socials like ice skating, bowling, film nights, baking sessions and meeting up for hot chocolate. They love having new people, and if you can put up with crazy Jim and his team, you will fit right in. There are also residential weekends and sleepovers. These are great fun events and result in many enjoyable memories. To find out more please contact our youth minister David Garrett (see below).

Soul Purpose

This is the group for teenagers aged 14+ which meets at the Vine Baptist Church opposite VEC. They originally started as a joint youth group for both churches and now have youngsters joining them from SAYT’s (see below) schools work and detached sessions. They meet on a Sunday evening from 6.30 to 8.30pm. The evening is a mix of games such as pool and table tennis, lots of chat and some great discussion on relevant issues. They can also ask their questions, air their doubts and take on some of those tricky topics they face. The group also have socials such as cinema, beach, and theatre trips. David Garrett leads this group, and although he has now been involved in youth work for almost three decades, he is still passionate and crazy to see young people find and then enjoy their faith. It’s tough being a young person and wanting to live a Christian life. This group supports and encourages young people in practical and relevant ways.
